As a sure-way of motivating and encouraging hard-working students who are sitting for the Malawi School Leaving Certificate Examinations to do extremely well, the Private Schools Association of Malawi (PRISAM) President, Dr. Ernest Kaonga has promised to reward a staggering K1 million to top six star perfomers across the country.

The PRISAM boss, Dr. Kaonga said three girls and three boys who will score high with flying colours will each get K1 million.

Dr. Kaonga, who is the founding director of a top-flight institute of learning, Maranatha Academy, said as PRISAM they believe that motivation is one factor that encourage students to workhard.

“We need to motivate these students because our aim is to see them scoring highly during exams. These are future leaders, and we must motivate and encourage them to do well.

“As Prisam president l have put aside K6 million to top 6 students who will emerge top perfomers during these examinations,”said Kaonga.

Dr. Kaonga, therefore, has stressed that the offer goes to both private and public students.

“It doesnt matter whether you are from public or private school. What Iam looking for are top six, three boys and three girls.

“I just want those who will work the hardest and comes top to be rewarded for their hard work. They will smile all the way to the bank for their work,” said Dr. Kaonga.

The Maranatha Academy founding managing director also said he has done this for the love of education and complementing government efforts in promoting education.

This is not the first time for Dr. Kaonga to splash cash as a motivation for learners to do better in their examinations.

This same year he promised students who sat for the JCE that top perfomers will also be rewarded.

Previously, he has been decorating MSCE, PSLCE students top perfomers including offering scholarships to various students from the marginalised.
