It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of our former co-worker and senior journalist, Gracious Chitakata’s sudden passing.

Gracious died suddenly at her home in Blantyre on Wednesday, July 16th 2025.

We grieve not only for the loss of an exceptional individual, our special friend and our beloved work colleague, but also for the pain his family must endure.

The funeral service arrangements will be announced later.

We at Gazette Media are deeply affected by the loss of our cherished dear friend and esteemed colleague, Gracious Chitakata, who was a dedicated member of our staff and an experienced journalist.

The late Gracious Chitatata once worked with the Times Group as a reporter in her formative years before moving to Rainbow TV as a producer and presenter.

She was a resourceful and creative journalist.

Grief-stricken Gazette Media Managing Director and lead consultant, Mc Donald Chapalapata said: “While we grapple with grief and confusion, our hearts ache for the late Gracious Chitakata’s family during this unimaginable time.

“We offer them our deepest condolences and unwavering support.”

We at Gazette Media are grimly heartbroken but are also focusing on celebrating Gracious Chitakata’s beautiful life and legacy.

As we take time to grieve and memorialize our colleague and friend, please join us in keeping her in our thoughts.
