Love need no reason to flourish.” They say. “Let love do the love.

Two powerful voices have joined forces, and the song is hit song. A sensational love ballad that is poised to conquer hearts and souls of music aficionados and lovers.

South Africa based Malawian music royalty sensation, the silky-smooth voiced songstress, Rhoda J has ganged up with the country’s spectacular songstress, Hilco in a love ballad, No reason in which the two music powerhouses are questioning why people fall in love.

No reason, which is probably one of the biggest all female collaborations to have come out of the south-east nation in the recent times is a big love song, has been released on Friday in both audio and video forms and it is vibrating and vibing the airwaves with a bang.

The song is literally a battleground for big voices and if truth be told the two Malawian music landladies killed it and delivered with so much quality.

The track, which is billed to be a hit, details the many reasons why people fall in love but in the end also highlight the fact that sometimes people just love people for no reason.

The impeccable Rhoda J

The song is aptly pegged at a furrowed equidistant between afrobeats and Afropop and it is a danceable tune with heart-and-soul pleasing melodies.

The song’s audio was produced by one of Malawi’s talented producers, TrickyBeatz and the skilled Jay Mass while the video was produced and directed by the authoritative able mind and hands of Vj Ken.

The song is a masterpiece of creativity, product of a good audio producer, virtuous and hugely talented singers and an imaginative videographer and director.

Rhoda J is the first Malawian female artist to hit a million views on Youtube with her song, Nthawi, remix she featured the legendary iconic fallen Soldier, Lucius Banda who composed and sang the song a few years back, a song which was produced by the enterprising Pon G and whose video was produced and directed by Vj Ken.

In an interview Rhoda J, she of the Nthawi Remix with Lucius Banda said: “It was great to work with Hilco on this song. I enjoyed working with this powerful singer.”

Songstress: Hilco

“I am honoured to have taken part in this great love song. In the song we are just asking a pertinent question as to why people fall in love and also provide a simple answer to that question that people do sometimes love for absolutely no reason,” added Rhoda J whose real name is Rhoda Jedegwa.

However, Rhoda J appealed to Malawians to support female artists in the country saying Malawi has a lot of great female musicians who can go far with their music but lack support.

Said the I wanna Know hit-maker: “The playing field is not level for female artists. Female artists do struggle to break through in music because of the so many barriers that are set against them.”

“But female artist must support each other and never look down at each other,” she huffed.

On her part, Hilco said: “It was great collaborating with my sister Rhoda J. We need to support each other and I thank her for accepting to work with me. I urge Malawians to support us.”

The song, “No reason” is now available and streaming on all music platforms and the video is accessible on Youtube.
