Castel Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality alcoholic beverages amid growing concerns on social media over the quality of some beer products allegedly linked to the company.

In a statement signed by Managing Director, Thomas Reynaud, the company has assured the public that its production standards of Malawi Vodka, Malawi Gin and Premier Brandy remain intact.

He emphasized that all raw materials used in production of its products undergo strict quality checks, both locally and through Castel Group’s central quality teams.

“Our recipes have not changed. No adjustments to alcohol content, ingredients, or distillation methods have been made, as no changes can be made without full validation of Castel Group standards,” said Reynaud.

“Castel Malawi guarantees high-quality products for its consumers. We are committed to upholding the quality, integrity, and pride that each product from Castel Malawi is meant to represent,” he added.

Reynaud- We are committed to upholding quality

The company also revealed that it is investigating the matter following the online circulation of suspicious products that appear to lack key identifiers such as batch numbers, suggesting they may not be genuine Castel products.

“We understand the historical and emotional connection that Malawians have with these iconic brands, that is why we remain fully committed to upholding the quality, integrity, and pride that each product from Castel Malawi is meant to represent,” said Reynaud in the statement.

About two years ago, Castel Malawi busted a couple for producing and selling counterfeit Malawi Gin in Ntcheu.

Ntcheu Magistrate’s court found them guilty and fined them K3.6 million.

“Castel Malawi guarantees high-quality products for its consumers. We are committed to upholding the quality.”
