…as Scorchers stun Nigeria 3-2

Football fans who attended the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) watch party organised by the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc had an unforgettable moment as the Malawi National Women Football team opened their campaign with a 3-2 victory over the defending champions, Nigeria in Morocco.

The watch party was held on Tuesday evening at Woodlands Hotel in Lilongwe.

NBM plc organised the event to give customers and football fans the opportunity to watch the match together and support the national team.

One of the attendees, Eliza Nyaka, said she was excited to witness the Scorchers’ winning start to the tournament.

“I am very happy to be here and watch the game with fellow Malawians. The Scorchers played well and gave us a great victory. I hope they continue with the same spirit and play beautiful football throughout the tournament,” said Nyaka.
