One of Malawi’s greatest football clubs with the biggest fanbase countrywide, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has announced a new board of directors to run the affairs of the club, popularly known as the people’s team.
The promulgated new boad of directors has been mixed with a blend of old and new people to take one of country’s oldest football clubs.
Former club president, Konrad Buckle has been retained as president with Escort Chinula as vice-president.
The club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suzgo Nyirenda said the appointment of the new board signifies the club’s adherence to good governance.
“As a club, we adhere to good governance,” he said.
“That is why we called people to express interest to fill board positions after the expiration of the previous board last year.
“We are happy that we have a new board. Congratulations to those that have made it into the new board and we look forward to working with them in fulfilling the club’s strategic goals,” Nyirenda added.
The new board has also included in its fold, two women, namely Institute of Marketing in Malawi president Isabel Masi Kachinjika as marketing and commercialisation director and former Netball Association of Malawi president Khungekile Madise as director of women’s football.
Others in the board are Yasin Domasi as legal affairs director, Harold Mwayang’ana as finance and administration director, Demo Kalaitzis as sports health as well as education director and Everson Mchacha is partnerships director.
Those who were in the previous board but not included in the new team include Chifundo Makande, Sadik Malinga and the Reverend Moyenda Kanjerwa.
The others include Stone Mwamadi, Blantyre City South legislator Noel Lipipa and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya.
However, Haiya has had resigned from the board last year, where he served as vice-president to pave the way for his candidancy for FAM presidency, which he eventually won.
